For instance Email Clients, it uses plug-ins to be able to decrypt and encrypt emails which is important to maintain privacy and security. Graphic Software uses add-ons or plug-ins to be able to support and obtain compatibility with file formats and to process images. Another is Media Players, it has plug-ins that can actually support several formats and can use filter. Microsoft office uses plug-ins or the know add-ons too, in which it has the capacity to extend the functionalities of the application that was limited before by simply adding customized commands and special features needed. Web browser also uses plug-ins to play video and presentation in different formats such as Flash QuickTime and a lot more.
